MagicPixel is Calgary's AI automation studio. We design and ship production-grade AI workflows for small and mid-sized businesses across Alberta — clinics, trades, real estate, property management, logistics, accounting. Fixed-price projects from $1,500. 30-day "it works or you don't pay" guarantee.
AI automation is the practice of using artificial intelligence — specifically large language models (LLMs), voice agents, document-understanding models, and orchestration tools — to handle business workflows that previously required human time.
The keyword in that definition is workflows, not tasks. A single task (writing one email, categorizing one receipt, answering one customer question) is something a human can do in seconds. A workflow is the repetitive doing of that task hundreds or thousands of times across weeks and months. AI automation makes the repetitive part disappear so humans can focus on the parts that actually require judgment.
Calgary's small and mid-sized business landscape has three characteristics that shape what good AI automation looks like here:
Many Calgary "AI consultancies" sell strategy decks and white papers. We sell working systems. Every engagement ends with software running in production that you own. No PowerPoint deliverables.
You talk to the person who will architect your system on the first call. Jaymit Gajjar — the founder — has 15+ years of enterprise cloud infrastructure experience (Azure, AWS, security, DR). Every project is personally architected by him. No SDRs, no junior consultants, no offshore handoffs.
Every project is fixed-fee and fixed-scope. If we miss spec after 30 days post-launch, you get a full refund or we keep tuning free. This is in the signed contract, not just on the website.
Roughly half of our free audit calls end with "you do not actually need a custom AI build." Sometimes you are better served by an off-the-shelf tool. Sometimes the underlying data needs cleanup first. Sometimes the workflow is not painful enough to justify the cost. We say so. This is bad for our short-term revenue and great for our long-term reputation.
MagicPixel works deeply in six Calgary industry verticals. Going deep in each lets us reuse architectural patterns, integrations, and proven workflows — which means lower cost and faster delivery for clients in those industries.
Outside these industries we will still take projects when the fit is right — but we will tell you upfront when our playbooks do not apply and we are essentially building from scratch.
24/7 AI voice assistants that answer missed calls, book appointments directly into your calendar, qualify leads, and route emergencies to a human. Connects to existing phone systems via SIP or call-forwarding. Most common Calgary projects: dental clinics, trades after-hours coverage, real estate inbound, accounting firms during tax season. Build cost: $1,800-$4,500.
Captures inbound leads from forms, ads, social, and IDX/MLS feeds. Enriches with public data (LinkedIn, property records, mortgage estimates, business intelligence). Scores intent. Drafts personalized first-touch responses. Routes hot leads to the right person within seconds. Build cost: $4,000-$8,000.
Extracts structured data from PDFs (invoices, contracts, Bills of Lading, lease agreements, tax forms). Validates against your business rules. Writes records to QuickBooks, Xero, your TMS, or your CRM. Flags exceptions for human review. Build cost: $4,500-$9,000.
Private AI assistants trained on your specific SOPs, product docs, pricing matrices, and historical decisions. Staff query in Slack or web chat and get cited answers from your own materials. Reduces internal Q&A time by 60-80%. Build cost: $1,800-$5,000.
AI classifies incoming emails by intent, routes them to the right person, and pre-drafts responses in your voice waiting in your drafts folder for human review and send. Recovers 60-120 minutes per executive per day. Build cost: $2,200-$5,500.
For workflows that touch multiple tools, multiple people, and have decision points along the way. Lead qualification → enrichment → routing → first-touch → calendar booking → CRM update, for example. Or RFP intake → review → pricing → proposal draft → approval → send. Build cost: $5,000-$12,000.
This phrase is used loosely in this industry. When we say production-grade, we mean six specific things every system we build has:
Cheaper agencies skip 4-5 of these. Their systems work on a Tuesday and break on a Friday. Ours do not.
We work in three fixed-price tiers. The right tier for you depends on the complexity of the workflow, not the size of your business. See our pricing page for full details.
| Tier | Price (CAD) | Timeline | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quick Start | $1,500 – $3,500 | 1-2 weeks | One specific painful workflow |
| Workhorse | $4,000 – $9,000 | 3-5 weeks | Multi-step automation across tools |
| Enterprise SMB | $10,000 – $25,000 | 6-12 weeks | Full AI infrastructure with SLA |
Most Quick Start projects pay back within 4-8 weeks of going live. Workhorse projects typically pay back in 8-16 weeks. Enterprise SMB projects typically pay back in 4-9 months and then compound. We calculate specific ROI for your business during the free audit.
VAs work hours; AI works seconds. A VA handles 30-50 tasks per hour at $25-$40/hour. An AI workflow handles 500-5,000 tasks per hour at near-zero marginal cost after the build. VAs are great for things requiring judgment and relationships; AI is great for things that are repetitive and rule-based.
It will replace the repetitive parts of their jobs — the data entry, the email triage, the chasing of missing info — not the judgment, relationship, or escalation work. Most clients reallocate staff to higher-value work rather than reducing headcount. The exception: businesses growing fast that would have needed to hire more admins now don't have to.
Every system we build complies with PIPEDA and Alberta PIPA. For sensitive data (healthcare, financial records, personal info), we can deploy on Azure Canadian regions so data never leaves Canada. We document data flow as part of every Workhorse and Enterprise SMB project.
Yes — we serve clients across Canada remotely. Calgary clients get priority scheduling and the option of in-person meetings. We currently focus on English-language clients; French support is available for additional scope.
Three quick tests: (1) Does this workflow happen many times per week? (2) Does it follow rules that can be written down? (3) When something unusual comes up, can you imagine flagging it for human review? If yes to all three, it's a candidate. The free audit will tell you with certainty.
We are a new studio (launched 2026), so we are still building public case studies. During the audit we walk you through architectural patterns we have built for similar workflows. Once we have client permission to share case studies publicly, they will live on our case-studies page.
